Editor's Note
The Samsun Gazi Museum is a museum dedicated to Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in the İlkadım district of Samsun. It opened in 1940 after the restoration of the hotel known as the Mıntıka Palas, where Atatürk stayed on his first arrival in Samsun on 19 May 1919, the event considered the starting point of the Turkish War of Independence. The two-storey historic building has brick masonry outer walls and lath-and-plaster interior partitions.
