Samsun Museum, formerly the Samsun Archaeology and Ethnography Museum, is located in the city centre near the provincial governor's office. It exhibits artefacts found in and around Samsun from the Chalcolithic, Early Bronze, Hittite, Hellenistic, Roman and Ottoman periods.
