Editor's Note
Built in 1893 during the tenure of Abidin Pasha (1886–1894), one of Ankara's former governors, the fountain can be said to have been one of the city's most splendid. Located near the part of Anafartalar Avenue formerly known as the "Balıkpazarı" (Fish Market), the fountain stood to the north of the Tahtakale Bath. As one of the fountains built by Abidin Pasha, it was known as the "Abidin Pasha Fountain" and lay on the Hanımpınarı water line. The fountain was about 15 km away.
