The Demirciler (Blacksmiths') Bazaar of Beypazari is a living museum of craftsmanship, known for never having severed its historical thread that stretches from the Ottoman period to the present day. With its narrow streets and stone buildings reflecting pre-Republican Anatolian urban architecture, this bazaar keeps alive even today the tradition that blacksmith masters have carried on for centuries. Imagining the old days, visitors get the chance to watch the beauty of the production process as the masters hammer and shape iron into plates, pots, and other kitchenware. Historians note that Beypazari was one of the important centers of the Silk Road during the Seljuk and Ottoman periods, and that the Blacksmiths' Bazaar was the beating heart of the artisan ecosystem that supported this trade. While visiting the bazaar, do not forget to see the historic bathhouse at its end and to buy a handcrafted item from a local blacksmith master, for each piece is a living representative of a centuries-old tradition.
