Editor's Note
Ihlara, formerly Chliara, is a town in the Guzelyurt district of Aksaray Province, about 40 km from the provincial seat and near the town of Guzelyurt. It is famed for the nearby Ihlara Valley, a 16 km gorge cut into volcanic rock in southern Cappadocia by eruptions of Mount Erciyes, with the Melendiz River flowing through it.
