Editor's Note
Antiphellos, originally known as Habesos, was an ancient coastal city in Lycia. First settled by the Lycians, it was occupied by the Persians in the 6th century BC and rose in importance during the Greek period as the harbour of the inland town of Phellos. As Phellos declined, Antiphellos became the largest city in the area and gained the right to mint its own coins. In Roman times it received financial support from the Rhodiapolis benefactor Opramoas to help rebuild after an earthquake devastated the region in 141 AD.
