Editor's Note
Colossae was an ancient Phrygian city in Asia Minor and one of the most renowned cities of southern Anatolia. An important city from the 5th century BC, it was addressed by the Apostle Paul's Epistle to the Colossians. Part of the Roman and later Byzantine province of Phrygia Pacatiana, it was destroyed in 1192/3 and its population moved to nearby Chonae.
