Editor's Note
Laodicea on the Lycus (earlier called Diospolis and Rhoas) was a rich ancient Greek city on the river Lycus (Çürüksu). Located in the Hellenistic regions of Caria and Lydia, it later became part of the Roman province of Phrygia Pacatiana. Its ruins lie near the modern city of Denizli.
