Editor's Note
The Galata Mevlevi Lodge, in the Tünel area of Beyoğlu, Istanbul, today operates as the Galata Mevlevi Lodge Museum. Built in 1491 by İskender Pasha, it was the first Mevlevi lodge in the city. Closed in 1925 when dervish lodges were abolished, it opened as the Divan Literature Museum on 27 December 1975 and, after restoration, reopened as the Galata Mevlevi Lodge Museum in 2011. Its courtyard contains the semahane, the Halet Efendi Library, the tomb of Şeyh Galib and historic fountains.
