Editor's Note
It is the work of Hakkı Karayiğitoğlu. The winning entry of a competition, it was erected in 1996 to commemorate the Second UN Conference on Human Settlements (Habitat) held in Istanbul. In the 6-metre-high sculpture, made of additive-enriched cement, a young girl is depicted holding a laurel branch in her right hand and a dove in her left.
