Editor's Note

Located in Harbiye, İstanbul, the Military Museum holds the most comprehensive collection of Ottoman and Turkish military history. Housing more than 22,000 artifacts, the museum is also famous for its Mehter (Janissary band) performances. It presents a rich history stretching from the sword of Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror to the First World War.
