Editor's Note
It lies about 500 m southeast of the castle. Although the exact date of the structure is not known from the sources, it is among the valuable works of the Seljuk and Beylik periods. Formerly also known as a caravanserai, the building has been referred to since the 13th century as the Kalehisar or Hüsamiye Medrese. Prof. Dr. Oktay Aslanapa describes it in art-historical terms as follows: 'Near Alacahöyük, the Kalehisar Medrese points to an abandoned old Seljuk centre. The plan of this two-iwan medrese is irregular and asymmetrical. From the long entrance iwan one passes into a narrow, rectangular courtyard.'
