Tavaşi Hasan Ağa Hamamı

Editor's Note

The bath was commissioned by Tavaşi Hasan Ağa, a freed slave and treasurer of Sokollu Mehmet Pasha. It stands right beside the Sokollu Mehmet Pasha Complex and was included in the complex's endowment. Because there was already an "Old Bath" remaining from the Beylik period, this bath was also called "Hamam-ı Cedid," or New Bath.
