Editor's Note
Part of the remains of the place known as Tahta Limanı (Wooden Harbour) continues underwater. The remains are generally scattered through the forest. The majority of the remains consist of houses and rock-cut tombs. Based on the tomb types in the necropolis area, the Palaiai remains are thought to date from the Roman period. Palaiai was registered as a First-Degree Natural and Archaeological Conservation Site by the Adana Conservation Board in 1990, 1991, 1992 and 1994.
