This is the tomb of Hatice Turhan Sultan, chief consort of Sultan Ibrahim and mother of Mehmed IV. Serving as official regent of the Ottoman Empire from 1651 to 1656 and the longest-reigning valide sultan, she was one of the prominent figures of the era known as the Sultanate of Women.
