Overlooking Zonguldak's coastline, the Dalgakiran City Viewpoint is an observation point where the historical traces of the industrial age uniquely blend with contemporary Black Sea life. Looking out from here, the deep-rooted historical transformation of the city, which in the late Ottoman era and the first century of the Republic was Turkey's most important port and coal center, unfolds before your eyes. Between the deep blue of the Black Sea and the gray and white tones of the city's industrial architecture, you can read in detail a century and a half of layered time. Just as the port officials who once gazed from these hills in the early twentieth century watched the movement of ships, today you too can feel the pulse of the city. To experience this dialogue between Zonguldak's industrial heritage and natural beauty, a visit just before sunset is recommended; as mist and evening light gild the city, a natural bond is forged between history and geography.
