Located on the northern edge of Catalca, Evcik Beach is one of Istanbul's forgotten cultural treasures. Scattered along the calm shores of the Black Sea, this coast has preserved its natural beauty with its sandy hills and fine pebbly sand. The fact that the trade routes of the Catalca region dating from the Ottoman period met the sea at this point increased the beach's historical importance. The fishing and salt-production carried out here in the past shaped the economic structure of the village. The local people have found their livelihood on these shores for generations and have carried on their cultural traditions. Today, Evcik Beach transports visitors to the past with its calm atmosphere and the simplicity of the village life around it. Taking a walk along the seashore early in the morning is the finest way to discover the region's natural and cultural richness.
