Atikhisar Castle, also known as Gavurhisar Castle, is a historic fortress near the central district of Çanakkale, northeast of the Atikhisar Dam and close to the village of Kayadere, and is thought to date from antiquity. The area is notable for both its natural richness and its archaeological potential.
