Tokat Castle is an ancient citadel with 28 towers built on top of a rocky peak in the center of Tokat. Its date of construction and the civilization that built it are unknown, though its earliest traces date to the 5th or 6th century. The cliffs on which it was built form a natural fortress, while the walls and the rooms within were made by people.
