Set within the historic fabric of Odunpazarı, the Wax Museum is a cultural treasure that preserves and displays the finest examples of Eskişehir's craft tradition. The museum lays out the historical journey of traditional candle-making from ancient methods to the present day, from the raw materials used to the finished products. Housed in one of the Odunpazarı houses famous for their stonework, with rooms lit by the warm glow of candlelight, it invites visitors into the depth of Anatolia's art and craft culture. Throughout history, beeswax has been not only a practical means of lighting but also a valued part of Turkish civilization, owing to its medicinal properties and its important role in religious rituals. The collections on display clearly reflect the delicate techniques of this craft, the ways it was used across different eras, and design motifs unique to the region.
