Salat Cami Yanı is a tell (höyük) about 20 km east of the Bismil district of Diyarbakır, on the bank of the Salat Stream, a tributary of the Tigris. Its Neolithic settlement covered an area of roughly 220 by 130 metres. Before excavations began, much of the mound had been destroyed by continuous soil removal and construction.
