Editor's Note
Girharrin Höyük is a settlement mound in the centre of Ortaköy village, about 11 km south-southeast of the city of Mardin, just west of the Mardin-Nusaybin road. Including its terraces it measures roughly 400 x 300 m and stands about 40 m high. During the Old Assyrian trade-colony period the main trade route known as the Royal Road, leading toward the Kültepe karum, is known to have passed through it, and the site is thought to be the city recorded as Huzirina in Assyrian documents.
