Story

Karaoğlan Locality stands as a quiet ruin near the İhsaniye district of Afyonkarahisar. This ancient settlement is an important archaeological treasure that carries the historical layers of Anatolia into the present. The traces of civilizations built one upon another over thousands of years have formed a multi-layered stratum here. The stone foundations, wall remains, and pottery fragments from antiquity tell of how much demand this area saw in past eras. Because of its geographic position at the intersection of old trade routes, the İhsaniye region led to dense settlement by the Hellenic, Roman, and Byzantine civilizations.
