Editor's Note
Tell Tayinat is a low-lying mound on the east bank of the Orontes River in the Amuq Valley of Hatay, about 25 km southeast of Antakya, near Tell Atchana, site of ancient Alalakh. It has been proposed as the late-3rd-millennium-BC Alalahu mentioned in Ebla's archives, and later as Kinalua, capital of an Iron Age Neo-Hittite kingdom. Finds include an Iron Age temple and several 1st-millennium-BC cuneiform tablets.
