Bathonea is an ancient Greek and Byzantine settlement on the northwestern shore of Lake Küçükçekmece in Istanbul's Avcılar district. Located on the European shore of the Sea of Marmara about 20 km west of Istanbul, the site has drawn considerable archaeological interest.
