Editor's Note
Asikli Hoyuk is a settlement mound on the bank of the Melendiz brook, about 25 km southeast of Aksaray near Kizilkaya village, set in the volcanic tuff landscape of central Cappadocia. First settled in the Pre-Pottery Neolithic around 8,200 BC and occupied to roughly 7,500 BC, it documents some of the earliest hunter-gatherers in the region to take up settled life, recording the transition from a mobile to a sedentary way of life.
