Editor's Note
Pessinus was an ancient city and archbishopric in Asia Minor. Its site is now the village of Ballihisar, in a tributary valley of the Sakarya River on the high Anatolian plateau at about 950 m elevation, some 13 km from the town of Sivrihisar.
