Story
Located in the Eceabat district of Gallipoli, this museum stands as an unflinching witness to the 1915 Battles of Gallipoli. The traces of this epic struggle, written by Ottoman and Entente forces, can be felt in the soldiers' letters, period weapons, uniforms, and personal belongings on display. The harrowing story of a war in which more than 250,000 people lost their lives is presented here alongside archaeological finds and local cultural artifacts. Anzac Cove at Gallipoli has today become a world-famous memorial ground, and the diary entries praising the Turkish soldier are preserved in the museum. Choose to visit between April and December; an early-morning visit lets you make a deep, reflective journey in a quiet setting.
