Story

Rising near the center of Kırşehir, Gölhisar Mound stands as a silent witness to Anatolia's layered civilizations. Built of earth and stone, this mound conceals thousands of years of history layer by layer. Architectural remains from antiquity, pottery fragments, stone door thresholds, and tools lay bare the skill and daily life of the peoples who once lived in this region. Gölhisar's strategic location drew many civilizations here, from the Hittites to the Phrygian period and from the Hellenistic era to the Byzantine age, making it a corridor of culture.
