Editor's Note
Büklükale is an archaeological site on the bank of the Kızılırmak River near the town of Karakeçili in Kırıkkale Province, central Turkey, covering about 30 hectares. During the Middle Bronze Age it became part of the Hittite Empire. Its location is significant because it sits on the west bank at the narrowest point of the Kızılırmak and served as an important crossing point through the ages, with a 13th-century Seljuk bridge and the remains of a Roman bridge nearby.
