Editor's Note
Hrisopolis (Chrysopolis, or Skutari) was an old Byzantine settlement established where the Üsküdar district of Istanbul now stands. According to tradition it took its name from the way the last rays of the setting sun struck it, making the houses appear golden when seen from Constantinople.
