Larissa was an ancient Greek city in the south-west of the Troad region of Anatolia, its surrounding territory known in Greek as the Larissaia. It has been located on a small coastal rise now called Limantepe, in the Ayvacık district of Çanakkale province. This Larisa in the Troad should not be confused with the 'Aeolian' Larissa near Menemen or the 'Ionian' Larissa in İzmir province.
