Editor's Note
Larisa (Ancient Greek: Λαρίσα) was a town of ancient Lydia, in the territory of Ephesus on the north bank of the Caystrus (Küçük Menderes), in a fertile district known for fine wine; it lay 180 stadia from Ephesus and 30 from Tralles. By Strabo's time it had declined to a village, though it was said once to have been a polis with a temple of Apollo. Its site lies near Çatal, by Zeytinova in the Bayındır district of İzmir.
