Editor's Note
Cerasus (Kerasous) was a town of ancient Pontus, on the Black Sea coast, a little to the west of Trapezus. A colony of Sinope, it was reached by Xenophon's Ten Thousand during their retreat; the town's name, and possibly its population, were translated to Pharnacia in the Hellenistic era.
