Editor's Note
Adramyttium was an ancient city and bishopric in Aeolis commanding the Gulf of Adramyttium. Originally located at the head of the gulf at Ören, west of modern Burhaniye, it later moved about 13 km northeast to its current location and became known as Edremit.
