Editor's Note
Berissa (also spelled Berisa, Verisa, or Verissa) was a city in the late Roman province of Pontus Polemoniacus in Asia Minor. The Scottish archaeologist and New Testament scholar W. M. Ramsay identified it with a village about 25 km south-west of Tokat, today known as the village of Aktepe in Tokat's central district.
