Amyzon was an ancient city in the region of Caria, located about 30 km south of present-day Koçarlı in Aydın, between the villages of Akmescit and Gaffarlar. Under Seleucid rule it belonged to an informal federation of city-states in Caria and was mentioned by the geographer Strabo. The site was brought to light by the French historian Louis Robert.
