Editor's Note
Anavarza (Anazarbus) was an ancient Cilician city, located today within the Kozan district of Adana. In the Late Roman period it was the capital of Cilicia Secunda. Emperor Justinian I rebuilt the city after a severe earthquake in 527. Following the conquest of the Armenian Kingdom of Cilicia, it was destroyed by Mamluk forces in 1374.
