Story
Located on Beyoğlu's Antrepo Avenue, inside the historic Halil Pasha Warehouse converted from a 1940s customs building, Istanbul Modern presents the rich heritage of Turkish art from a contemporary perspective. The museum is an important cultural center that houses Turkey's first private modern art collection and organizes exhibitions across a broad spectrum, from national artists to international works. Accompanied by windows opening onto the Bosphorus, this space where artistic and architectural values meet reflects Istanbul's living cultural fabric. Its cinema screens boundary-pushing documentary and experimental films, an ideal way to discover the many faces of Turkish cinema. During your visit, after exploring the permanent collection on the upper floors at a leisurely pace, you are encouraged to sit in the terrace café and reinterpret Istanbul accompanied by the view of the Bosphorus.
