Editor's Note
A museum in the Müftü quarter of central Rize, set in a three-storey mansion completed in 1921 and also known as the Mehmet Mataracı Mansion. Mustafa Kemal Atatürk stayed in this house during his 1924 visit to Rize. The building was donated by the Mataracı family on the 100th anniversary of Atatürk's birth and opened as a museum on 27 December 1985. Its floors display inscriptions, traditional weaving instruments and Atatürk's personal belongings.
