The War of Independence Museum, the First Grand National Assembly Building, is a history museum in Ankara's Altındağ district next to Ulus Square that served as the first building of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey until 1924. Converted into a museum in 1961, it reopened on 23 April 1981 under the name War of Independence Museum. Operating under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, it exhibits works relating to the War of Independence and the proclamation of the Republic.
