Editor's Note
The Atatürk and War of Independence Museum, officially the Anıtkabir Atatürk and War of Independence Museum, occupies a columned area of about 3,000 square metres beneath the Hall of Honour that holds Atatürk's mausoleum at Anıtkabir. First opened on 21 June 1960, it was enlarged in a nine-month project begun in November 2001 and reopened on 26 August 2002, the 80th anniversary of the Great Offensive.
