Editor's Note
The Mehmet Âkif Ersoy House Museum in Ankara's Altındağ district is the house where the poet lived during the Turkish War of Independence and wrote many of his poems, including the Turkish National Anthem. The two-storey wooden building, formerly the Taceddin Lodge, was allocated to the poet during the war years; it was turned into a house museum in 1949 and opened to visitors in 1984.
