Editor's Note
Hadrianopolis is an as-yet partly excavated ancient city of the region of Paphlagonia, near the village of Çaylı in the Eskipazar district of Karabük. Founded in the 4th century during the Roman period, it contains numerous marble columns and capitals, churches, walls, cisterns, rock tombs and a Roman bath; excavations have uncovered a church with floor mosaics of animals and birds. In 2022 an inscription confirmed the presence of a cult of Asclepius, the god of healing, at the site.
