Editor's Note
The Şanlıurfa Archaeology and Mosaic Museum first opened in 1969 after artefacts began to be collected in 1948. It holds Turkey's largest indoor exhibition hall and longest visitor route at 4.5 km, and contains finds from Şanlıurfa, Göbekli Tepe, Karahan Tepe and Harran, as well as ruins recovered from the reservoirs of the Atatürk, Birecik and Karkamış dams.
