Story
Housed in the 19th-century At Köşkü (Horse Mansion) in Emirgan, the Sakıp Sabancı Museum is one of Turkey's most prestigious art venues. The museum preserves one of the world's richest collections of Ottoman calligraphy and also hosts works by Picasso and Monet. In its garden, surrounded by views of the Bosphorus, you can witness moments where art meets nature through its sculptures. The museum building is itself a work of art: this 19th-century architecture continues to host today's contemporary exhibitions. An interesting note: every line drawn by Ottoman calligraphers carries elegance and spiritual depth. Visitor tip: it is recommended to come in the morning hours; seeing how the natural light illuminates the exhibits will make your experience unforgettable.
