Rumi's türbe under a turquoise-tiled dome, in the Mevlevi lodge where the whirling order was founded.
Editor's Note
The Mevlâna Museum in Konya, open since 1926, occupies the complex that once served as the dervish lodge of the Mevlevi order, the whirling dervishes. It houses the mausoleum of the Persian Sufi mystic Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Rumi. The tomb, known as the Green Dome, was built on four thick columns and was expanded by later additions, and the patronage of Mevlevi-affiliated Ottoman sultans gave it special importance.
