Editor's Note
This is the tomb of Murad I (Murad Hüdavendigâr), the third Ottoman sultan. Son of Orhan Gazi, he reigned from 1362 to 1389, during which the realm grew to roughly 500,000 square kilometres and most of the Balkans came under Ottoman rule. He was stabbed to death by a Serbian soldier while touring the field after the First Battle of Kosovo in 1389.
