Editor's Note
A tomb near the coast in the Erdemli district of Mersin, considered one of the oldest Turkish monuments in the province. According to its inscription it was built in 1312 for a Seljuk commander, Sinan son of Aktaş, who died in 1220. The square, windowless structure has a hexagonal roof, and locals have turned its surroundings into an informal cemetery.
