Editor's Note
The Teke Peninsula extends into the Mediterranean in southwestern Turkey, between the gulfs of Antalya and Fethiye, and is bordered to the north by the Lakes Region. Known in antiquity as Lycia, it takes its name from the Tekeoğulları principality that controlled the area from the early 14th to the mid-15th century.
